1. You Are Here

This is super important to say up front. If you weren’t capable of amazing things to contribute to the world, you wouldn’t be here. So welcome to the party!

When you consider all the intricate details the Universe balances constantly to perfection. You know that your presence here is actually required for the whole to function well.

2. You Can Change Your State of Mind

An important sign that you are capable of amazing things is that you can shift and change your state of mind on purpose.

“State of mind” is defined as the quality of one’s consciousness as it relates to the outside world, as well as the language and details of your inner thoughts, emotions and beliefs.

To quote Tony Robbins, an inspirational speaker and author, whose published books and videos are read and watched by millions, “Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.”

When you’re ready to be in control of your state of mind, you’ll be in charge of your emotions and you’ll understand that life is happening for you, not to you.

3. Visualization

Visualization is a handy mental tool we all use every day, albeit most often, unknowingly. We use it when making plans, reading a book, giving directions, and to find solutions to problems.

We imagine how we’d act in certain circumstances, videos playing through our mind of how we’d feel in certain situations, details about how we’re going to enjoy our vacation and what we’d do if we were rich.

In your imagination, you can be anything you want, and live the life you want. There are no limits to follow your dreams.

Visualization is a creative tool that, used together with feeling, (without neutralizing your dreams by negative thoughts) you will begin changing your life and making what you imagine come true.

4. Creative Self-Expression

Built into each one of us is a fundamental part of what makes us capable of amazing things. Creative self-expression reveals who we are and how we feel through what we create.

Humans create, communicate, or express ourselves through:

  • Language (speech, writings, mathematics, geometry)
  • Art (paintings, drawings, music, videos, structures)
  • Ideas (fashion, inventions, information, technology)

We can sell our self-expression to be motivational or inspirational for others, or instead for our own enjoyment or release. This amazing ability to create is a sign to leave any doubt behind and follow your heart.

5. Empathy

Empathy is the beautiful capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference.

Over the last decade, neuroscientists have identified a 10-section “empathy circuit” in our brains which, if damaged, can curtail our ability to understand what other people are feeling.

It’s set apart from sympathy or pity. It honours the empathic person as the witness, as well as the person going through the challenging experience. They meet, as one, in an empowering exchange through empathy.

We learn about emotions as we place ourselves in another’s position.

We can nurture its growth throughout our lives—and we can use it as a radical force for positive social transformation.

6. Self-Reflection

A famous quote by Socrates is, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

Taking the time for reflection is a bit of a lost art. Most of us, unfortunately, are living unexamined lives.

Simply put, self-reflection (or “personal reflection”) is taking the time to meditate on, evaluate, and give serious thought to your behaviors, thoughts, attitudes, motivations, and desires.

It’s the process of diving deep and determining your great, “Why?”, so you can make adjustments, or better decisions, along the way.

Practicing self-reflection takes discipline and intentionality. Pressing pause on the chaos of life is required and is an incredibly valuable and amazing practice.

7. Choice

There are so many daily choices in life – decisions, decisions, decisions. However, one of the most important choices we can make in each moment is our attitude.

Ever wonder why some people seem more capable of dealing with complex and challenging situations than others? Or dealing with stress and change?

To quote Viktor Frankl, author of the classic bestseller, “Man’s Search for Meaning”, “Everything can be taken from a man but–the last of the human freedoms–to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s way.”

In other words, in all situations, no matter how desperate they may appear or actually be, you always have the ultimate freedom, to choose your attitude.

At times, it may seem impossible, but like any other talent, the power of choice can be developed.

8. Laughter

Leave that sad feeling behind. Laughter is capable of amazing things. It draws people together in ways that trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body.

Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh.

Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. It also helps you release anger and forgive sooner.

When you share it with others, you also bring them all these benefits.

When you value yourself and have good self-esteem, you feel secure and worthwhile.

You have generally positive relationships with others and feel confident about your abilities. You’re also open to learning and feedback, which can help you learn to master new skills.

The benefits are not just for you. They’re also for everyone you interact with because you become the optimistic or motivational friend or relative.

Revealing more proof that you are capable of amazing things.

10. Meditation

Throughout history, meditation has been a beautiful ancient tradition. To date, it’s still used all over the world to create a sense of calm and inner harmony.

Instead of being about faith, it’s an amazing way to alter consciousness, find awareness, and achieve peace.

Meditation has many benefits. It is said the meditative practice helps to “optimize” how the brain uses its resources, lowers stress, regulates breathing, lowers anxiety, may reduce age related memory loss, among many other amazing things.

There are nine popular types of meditation practice, which includes, mindfulness, mantra, transcendental, loving-kindness, etc. Google to find the one that’s right for you.

11. Purpose

Your purpose is the inspirational reason you do what you do and feel what you feel – your sense of resolve or determination.

Purpose creates meaning, offers a sense of direction and helps guide our path, behavior and goals when applied to our lives.

You are capable of amazing things and once a previously believed paradigm of human possibility, is shattered, it’s a sign that it’s possible for everyone.

Just like before Roger Bannister became the first human to break the four-minute mile barrier in 1954, it was widely believed that no human would ever run a mile in under four minutes.

Bannister developed his own training regimen of short, intense workout sessions to increase his stamina and pace.

On May 6, 1954, in Oxford, England, Bannister ran the mile in 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds. Following this groundbreaking feat, however, Bannister held this distinction for less than seven weeks.

John Landy finished the mile in 3:58.0 on June 21, 1954, and another 36 people ran the mile in under four minutes by 1956. In the following nine years, more than 200 other people did the same.

The set psychological barrier had been breached. Now people had a sign, it was possible.
