13 Clear Reasons To Trust The Timing Of Your Life (2024)

Want to learn how to trust the timing in your life? This guide will break down why it’s so powerful for people to trust the timing of their lives, plus how to do it.

This is a topic I happen to be exploring with my life coaching clients frequently.

That’s why I’m excited to help improve your understanding of it too.

Let’s roll!

What Does Trust The Timing Of Your Life Mean?

Some parts of our lives are completely in our control, but many things are at least slightly outside our control.

For these things, we often need to wait for the universe to deal us some good fortune.

The concept of trusting the timing of your life means to accept that the universe will deliver us this good luck when we need it most.

Trust The Timing Of Your Life: Everything Is Happening Exactly When It Should

This phrase suggests that the universe already has a plan set out for us, so we may as well smile and enjoy the ride. It’s a prevalent idea in spiritual and religious circles, which we’ll explore more later on.

Trust The Timing Of Your Life: If It Comes, Let It Come

This sentiment suggests that the universe already has a plan for us, so it’s unnecessary to chase what we want with too much desperation.

Indeed, if we’re too desperately focused on the outcome rather than the process, this can frustrate us and sometimes even spoil our chances of success. Indeed, this sentiment of “if it comes, let it come” is often used to help people focus on their habits, rather than their results.

Why You Should Trust The Timing In Your Life

If you struggle to accept the timing in your life, I hope these ideas will help you to let go and finally trust life to deliver what you need when you need it.

1. Plenty Of Amazing People Had To Wait For Success

Stan Lee didn’t create his first comic book until age 39. Vera Wang began working in the fashion industry at age 40. Colonel Sanders franchised KFC at age 62. There are hundreds more stories of celebrities and entrepreneurs who managed to achieve success later in life. Also, check out this list of inspirational celebrity comeback stories.

2. It Will Help You Accept What You Can’t Change

Stressing when things happen that you can’t change? This won’t get you moving forward in life.

When you learn to trust the timing of the universe, you will (hopefully) begin to switch your focus to what you can control. This mindset shift is a little thing, but so powerful for your overall well-being.

3. Live Authentically

When you learn to trust the timing of your life, you’ll hopefully feel empowered to live authentically. This will make you more likeable and bring you more joy.

4. Live Without Fear

Fear is essentially worrying about the future. When you trust the timing of your life, a lot of these worries will evaporate.

5. Develop Presence

When you trust the universe to deliver what you want at the right time, it becomes easier to clear your head of unhelpful thoughts and live in the present moment.

6. It Boosts Your Natural Gratitude

When you trust the timing of your life, you’ll find it easier to be grateful for the things you have, rather than upset about what you don’t have. Another simple skill that will skyrocket your happiness.

7. You’ll Learn To Appreciate The Journey

When you learn to appreciate the journey towards your goals, you can be happy now. That’s better than telling yourself you’ll only be happy when you achieve a certain goal.

When you trust the universe to deliver your success when you deserve it, it becomes a lot easier to enjoy your daily progress.

8. You’ll Feel As If You Earned Your Success

There will be no need to suffer from imposter syndrome, nor to fear that your success will be taken away. It was supposed to happen to you at this time, so you’ll have no problem accepting it.

9. You Don’t Need To Fear About Your Romantic Life

If you’re part of the spiritual community that believes in the soul family, you’ll trust the universe to send a special person into your world exactly when you need them.

10. You’ll Feel Protected By God

Most religions believe in a higher power who is looking out for them and making everything happen for a reason. Their followers have faith in the higher power to protect them and deliver only what’s best for them in the long run. This understanding can keep people going through tough times in their life.

11. You’ll Look For A Bright Side

Some life events are judged as ‘good’, and some are judged as ‘bad’. But it’s all subjective. Often, bad things can turn out to be blessings in disguise, especially if we respond to them in good faith.

When you trust the timing of the universe, it becomes easier to look for the bright side of ‘bad’ events, and this makes it easier to turn things around.

12. It’ll Stop You Comparing Yourself To Other People

There’s little joy to be found in comparing yourself to different people. After all, there’ll nearly always be another person who’s doing better in their own way. When you learn to trust the timing of your life, it becomes easier to do away with this unhelpful comparison habit.

13. You’ll Bring More Peace And Joy Into Your Life

All the things in this list will help you find peace and joy in your life. This will give you a positive energy, making it easier for you to connect with others, excel in your career, change things you’re unhappy with and generally enjoy a life worth living.

It’s almost magic – and it all starts with trusting the timing of your life.

How Do You Trust Your Own Timing?

If you think trusting the timing of your life is easier said than done, here are some practical tips to make it easier.

  • Do what you love. When you’re working towards your greater purpose, you tend to get a sense of fulfillment from the process, rather than the end goal. You’ll notice this can improve your patience for reaching your goals.
  • Realise what is and what isn’t in your control. When something frustrates you, ask if there’s anything you can do about it. With either answer, you’ll realize it doesn’t matter and there’s no reason to stay upset.
  • Write a daily gratitude list. This will help you be fulfilled in the present, rather than wanting to rush to the finish line of your life.
  • Meditate. Sit, empty your mind and focus on your breathing for 10-20 minutes a day. This practice helps to improve your patience and allows you to enjoy the flow state of being present.
  • Be fully aware of your own emotions. When you’re more aware of your emotions, you can catch yourself losing trust in the universe and pull yourself back before you get too frustrated. Meditation helps with that.
  • Self love. When you take steps to be happier in your own skin, you’ll be less stressed about rushing towards a different future.
  • Take the right steps. When you’re taking all the right steps towards your goals, it becomes easier to start accepting that the universe will lead you to the future you deserve.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others. The timing in their life has nothing to do with yours. Life takes different turns for different people. Your moment will come in its own time.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Timing Of Your Life

Let’s round off this article with the answers to some frequently asked questions about the timing of your life.

Who Says Trust The Timing Of Your Life?

The quote has been attributed to self-improvement author Brittany Burgunder, but it’s a sentiment echoed throughout the self-help community.

Why Is Life All About Timing?

Throughout our lives, we’ll experience ‘good things’ that happened at the ‘wrong time’. We’ll also experience ‘bad things’ at a time that allows us to heal and grow. If these same things conspired to happen at a different moment, it would lead to a completely different turn of events.

As such, it could be argued that the timing of a life event could be as important as the event itself.
