Shifting realities is used as a motivational practice to give people the confidence to manifest their desired reality in real life.

In my role as a life coach, I am often helping people to create the life they always wanted – and that’s why I’m excited to share this article with you.

So, let’s dive in. 

How Do You Shift? The Pillow Method For Beginners

The Pillow Method is one of the simplest reality-shifting methods. Below, I have broken this reality-shifting method down into a detailed step-by-step guide for you.

1. Write A Shifting Script

The first step of the Pillow technique is to write down a script of what your ideal reality looks like. There are plenty of online templates you can follow to help you with writing this. Simply perform a web search for “reality shifting script”. The key is to make this as detailed as possible so you can picture it clearly in your dreams when you go to sleep. 

Writing it down on a piece of paper makes your desired reality tangible and it’s crucial to do this, because you’ll be placing this paper underneath your pillow.

It’s better to write your script by hand as the handwriting process allows you to better instil your ideas into your consciousness.

If you do type it on your phone or your laptop, make sure to print it out. Placing your phone underneath your pillow is bad for you, because of the radiation and the risk of overheating. 

2. Write Shifting Affirmations

On the opposite side of the paper, you’ll need to write a list of positive shifting affirmations.

Here are some examples of affirmations I like to use.

  • I am shifting.
  • Shifting comes easily to me.
  • I am going to my desired reality.
  • I love to be in my desired reality.
  • My new reality is amazing.  

The more you write down, the better. 

3. Meditate 

Meditation primes your mind for reality shifting.

If your mind is buzzing with all sorts of negative thoughts before you go to bed, that’s going to make it much harder to manifest your intention.

By taking 10 minutes to calm down and focus on your deep breaths only, you’ll create a mindset that’s far more suited for manifesting greatness.  

4. Place Your Paper Underneath Your Pillow

It doesn’t matter what position the paper is, but it does need to be underneath your head.

5. Optional Practices

Some personal growth experts say it helps to sleep with manifestation crystals or manifestation oil. Others recommend that you listen to subliminal meditation music to further prime your mind for manifestation.

Gratitude journaling is also recommended to prime your mind for manifestation. 

Some people also suggest you should be repeating the positive affirmations you wrote on your paper before you go to sleep. 

These can all be regarded as optional steps though.  

6. Visualize Your Desired Reality 

Lie with your head on the pillow, close your eyes and begin to visualize the reality you want to manifest. With a clear mind and no distractions, you should be able to develop a clear visualization of the reality you want. Indeed, the script you’ve written should make this process easier.  

7. Fall Asleep

Falling asleep is a key part of the Pillow Method – and that’s why it’s recommended you only complete it at night before you go to bed.

The idea is that you’ve primed your consciousness to manifest your ideal reality before you fall asleep, allowing it to manifest your intention as you dream. You’ve also sent a clear message to the Universe by putting your intentions on paper. 

8. Wake Up In Your Desired Reality 

If you’ve followed all of these steps correctly, you should wake up in a world that’s closer to your desired reality.

Manifesting an alternate reality isn’t easy. It requires an unbreakable positive mindset. Sometimes, it takes a lot of practice before you begin to witness results.

It’s not necessarily that you did it wrong. As with all shifting methods, the power of belief is key. This positive energy creates the magic that allows this sleep manifestation to work. 

Save your script, and if you try the Pillow Method again, make sure to read it before you put it back under your pillow and fall asleep the next time.

It’s also recommended that you try other methods for reality-shifting that are more suited to your belief system. 

What’s The Easiest Shifting Method?

The Pillow Method is arguably the most easy manifestation technique.

However, some people find it easier to successfully shift into their desired reality using a more complex method.

The Julia Method for shifting involves listening to Theta Waves, lying in the starfish position and counting to 100 while reciting positive affirmations beginning with “I am”.

What Is The Alice In Wonderland Method For Shifting?

Similarly to the Pillow Method, you’ll need to lie down in bed.

However, for this reality-shifting method, you’ll visualize yourself underneath a tree and being approached by someone from your desired reality.

This person will run away and jump down a rabbit hole and you’ll follow them. At the bottom, they’ll lead you through a door to your desired reality. 

This process requires more visualization skills than the Pillow Method but many people have reported fantastic results from it.
