This article includes:
an invaluable, FREE life plan worksheet,
and a load of useful life plan tips.

A life plan will help to get where you want to be and live your life to the fullest. Content, inspired, waking up full of creative energy every blessed morning.

I have personally experienced the benefits of this practice.

And I can’t wait to share more with you.

Let’s dive straight into it.

Creating A Life Plan Worksheet

First, what you will need to follow this tutorial:

  • A tablespoon of free time.
  • A pinch of sincere desire to build the life of your dreams.
  • Attention + imagination to the taste.

The equipment and resources you’ll be working with sum down to:

  • Several clean pages (online or offline document based on personal preferences).
  • A pen/ pencil or the top of your finger accordingly.

Usually, life plans are about 6 – 15 pages long. However, a short-term life plan may even fit in a single page.

The major goal is to think carefully about the big picture. And to be honest with yourself!

Do you want to be free to travel more?

Or do you wish to bring your business to a higher level?

With some proper planning, you can break up your life dreams into attainable goals.

And goals + action = achievements.

Below are 5 life plan worksheet steps you want to follow.

Step 1 – Clarify Your Life Vision.

Assess where you are in life NOW.

This will help you figure out where you want to reach in the long-term.

Afterward, you can confidently create an outline of the short-term goals that will help you achieve the long-term ones.

Step 2 – Perform Additional Self-Assessment.

Prioritize your strengths, and areas for growth.

You want to use a carefully systematized list. This will help you understand where to focus your dedicated work.

Step 3 – Your Life Purpose + Intentions Setting.

Identifying your life purpose will help you focus better on your passions, talents, and unlimited power for creation.

Next, it’s time to set your intentions.

This is intricately related to manifesting the life of your dreams by working with the subconscious mind.

Important Notes:
Don’t underestimate the power of intention setting!

According to a 2017 study conducted by the University of Manchester researchers, people experience significant difficulties in guessing “the true intention of each other’s behavior.”

This is nonetheless true to our own intentions unless we put in the needed work.

Step 4 – Make An Action Plan.

Let’s assume you want to help your career flourish.

To do so in reality, and not merely on paper, you want to use an action plan.

First, you need to set your top three goals.

Once you’re done with goal setting, revisit each one of your goals.

Now, ask yourself:

What are the steps I need to make to conquer my goals?”

To help your career flourish, you may need to invest in your education.

But to invest in your education, you need free time + available money.

So, how do you get these?

What is the step you need to take to have more free time and resources?

How about organizing your time better?

Or maybe cutting on some unneeded expenses?

Your action plan is a summary of all the actionable steps you will take to make goal #1, goal #2, #3, etc. HAPPEN.

Step 5 – Follow Your Plan Consistently.

Even the best plan will fail if we do not put in the actual work to follow it.

This is a continuous journey. Unless you have Alladin’s magic lamp handy, forget about shortcuts.

And instead of wasting any more time, start sticking to your plan.

Be the hero of your story, not the one who needs saving.

You have been given a gift—your life. What will you do with it?

But Wait! What Is A Life Plan?

If you don’t have a plan, you become part of somebody else’s plan.”

~~ Terence McKenna.

It seems funny to make a life plan when life can be so unpredictable, right?

But the ultimate goal of a life plan is quite predictable:

success in every meaningful way.

Consider how a simple planner app helps people bring harmony in the chaos of everyday tasks.

In a similar sense, your life plan serves as the ultimate guide to personal success and well-being.

Also, a life plan is strictly unique to each individual.

For example, let’s say you want to become a life coach
Coaching people is a mission and a calling. But this profession requires a lot of skills, too.

So, how do you make the turn from a dream to reality?

You get down to proper planning + goal setting.

How To Use The Life Plan Spreadsheet

Plan your work and work your plan.”
~~ Napoleon Hill.

#1 – Find the right time to engage in the life planning process.

You need to set some time alone and involve fully in the life planning process.

Put on some good music, light a candle, clear your mind. Self-care and self-love are NOT selfish!

#2 – Keep consistent track of your list.

Working with a life plan is all about CONSISTENCY.

You want to revisit your plan weekly or monthly. Keeping yourself accountable is how you will actually put your plan into practice.

#3 – Get the nitty-gritty work done.

Life planning is a powerful tool to help anyone with:

  • Life vision,
  • Goal setting, AND
  • Goals accomplishment.

But neither vision nor goal-setting alone will get you from point A to point B.

Once you set goals, you become the one in charge of conquering these goals, don’t forget this.

How To Make A Plan For Life?

“Four steps to achievement:
Plan purposefully.
Prepare prayerfully.
Proceed positively.
Pursue persistently.”
~~ William A. Ward.

The mightiest tools in creating the best plan for life is to combine words + visuals

Why is that so?

And how to make the most of pictures to take your life plan to the next level?

Pictures Help Activate Your Subconscious Mind Power

The subconscious mind works in pictures.

We, human beings, are visual processors.

A picture does say more than a thousand words!

Long-Term Triumph: Setting 5 Year And 10 Year Goals

In 2011, psychologists RF Baumeister and EJ Masicampo conducted a study on the effect of unfinished goals on the mind.

They concluded that:
committing to a specific plan for a goal may therefore not only facilitate attainment of the goal, but may also free cognitive resources for other pursuits.

In other words, writing each long-term goal into a neat list has a stilling, clearing effect on the mind.

Indeed, life changes, and so will your goals throughout the years.

Quintessentially, you have one TOP goal to achieve while working with setting 5-year and 10-year goals.

And that’s to continuously systematize the information in your head.

Written form language is extremely powerful! It has to do with certain unique benefits (psst, it’s confirmed by neuroscience!).

Goal setting is about closing the many tabs in your brain. Ultimately, you can focus on the ones that matter the most.

Due to overload, we often end up fighting with negative thoughts and emotions, anxiety, and depression.

Yes, your set goals worksheet may prove to be far more valuable than what you dared to believe.

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.”
~~ Denis Watley.

Okay, so “my best life” planning process is over.

But you need to re-evaluate your goals chart regularly.

Accountability is an intricate part of every life plan.

Every week, set some minutes aside for yourself.

Use this free time to (re-)set goals. Add a new goal if you have such. Or remove a goal that does not fit due to the current circumstances.

You may need to make some changes every now and then.

But most importantly, you want to get an idea of your progress.

Do you like how your best life story keeps unfolding?  Read and reread your life plan’s goals chart.

Remember, life planning is all about:

  • PROPER goal setting by following a specific list of things-to-accomplish.
  • Being able to ask yourself the right questions.
  • Willingness to regularly check out and estimate your progress.

And last but not least:

  • Action, and
  • Some more action.

You can use a board + sticky notes, a pin board, or create your goals chart in Excel format, among others.

What type of life did the child you once used be wanted?

“All you need is the plan, the road map and the courage to press onto your destination.”
~~ Earl Nightingale.

Many of us would usually put too much focus on our worries or struggles.

I choose to say YES to positive life planning.

Focus on:

  • What you want to achieve, and
  • Where you want to be this month, in a year, in 5 years.

Then create the future life you truly deserve starting today. Day after day, step by step.

And don’t forget to have fun!  Just like we used to do when we were children.
